Confirmation

Confirmation, along with Baptism and Eucharist, is one of the three sacraments of Initiation.  Through an outpouring of special gifts of the Holy Spirit, Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by confirming or “sealing” the baptized person’s union with Christ by equipping that person for active participation in the life of the church.

Confirmation of Youth

confirmation_03The parish program for the immediate preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation takes place in the 10th grade year. In order to receive Confirmation, all youth must have received at least two years of religious education immediately prior to entering the Confirmation program, either at a Catholic school or through our parish faith formation program.  Each youth will be required to attend Confirmation sessions in final preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  These sessions will begin with a parent-teen meeting held in October of the 10th grade year.  The program consists of final preparation sessions, a team building retreat, a day of reflection and participation in at least two parish sponsored service projects.
