The IHM High School Youth Ministry program is a total youth ministry program. It includes activities and gatherings that promote the spiritual, educational, emotional, social and Catholic Christian growth of all 9-12th graders. Our program is built around the guidelines laid out by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in their document, Renewing the Vision. This document provides the three goals our program is built upon:
- To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
- To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.
- To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
Our High School Youth Ministry continues to grow. Two Sundays a month, between the 1:30pm Spanish Mass and the 5:00 pm Sunday Mass, over a hundred of Middle School and High School adolescents meet for dinner, youth ministry activities and religious education. In addition, there are numerous teens preparing for Confirmation, from both our Spanish and English speaking communities.
Our high school youth ministry program is open to all high school students – regardless of the school they attend. Our activities include monthly service projects, social activities, retreats (including an annual beach retreat), a summer mission program and a bi-annual trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference.

Youth Leader Volunteers
“Ministry with adolescents mobilizes all of the resources of the faith community in a comprehensive and integrated approach: ‘Part of the vision of youth Ministry is to present to youth the richness of the person of Christ, which perhaps exceeds the ability of one person to capture, but which might be effected by the collective ministry of the many persons who make up the Church.’ ”
(from Renewing the Vision by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops)
It takes an entire community to ensure that we are able to reach all of the teens in our parish – and that includes you! Our team of youth leaders are young adults giving their time to prepare lessons, plan fun activities, conduct weekend retreats and accompany our teens on monthly service projects. There are several ways to be involved – no matter your age, talents or available time. We even have opportunities to help that are strictly behind the scenes! Click here for more information on ways that you can become involved.
