Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) Ministry Opportunities – GIFT is the program of religious education offered at IHM to children who attend public school and do not receive formation in their faith as part of their regular education. The GIFT ministry involves both children and their parents.

  • Catechists: Each year we need many catechists (teachers) to help instruct our grade level religious education classes. There are two catechists for each classroom and the classes are taught in English. Our grade level religious education classes are currently held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
  • Session Coordinators: We need bilingual volunteers to assist with our religious education sessions and sometimes to substitute teacher when needed.
  • Faith Festival Planning Team: Each year we hold 5-6 faith festivals for all of our parish and school families.· These festivals require planning and designing of materials, activities and themes.·
  • Office Volunteers: We often have many tasks that need to be done in the office in order to successfully prepare for faith formation events and sessions.  These hours are flexible and volunteers can choose the amount of time they have to offer.
  • Hospitality Volunteers: For each faith formation session and event, we need volunteers to help up set-up refreshments.
  • Event Set-Up Volunteers: Our faith festivals often require some set-up and this usually requires the use of several volunteers who enjoy decorating and creating atmosphere for large events. Families are able to do some of these tasks together and are most welcome. Quinceañeras Ministry/Ministerio de Quinceañeras– at IHM this ministry focuses on the preparation for a young woman’s quinceañeras.  We help the young women prepare for their fifteenth birthday as this is a very important ceremony, and it carries religious overtones, as the young woman is now viewed as a responsible adult member of the Roman Catholic Church. The members of this ministry help with the quinceañeras workshop required by each young woman and should be bilingual.
